High School Celebrates Welcoming Gym Update

Wyandanch Memorial High School celebrated the completion of its newly updated gymnasium floor with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Aug. 24. District administrators, Board of Education members and student-athletes were on hand to mark the enhancement to the decades-old floor and get a first look at the refreshed gym. The project was one of several improvements completed at the school this summer, including an upgrade to the auditorium.
“This improvement represents an investment in our students and school community, providing a refreshed and welcoming space for athletics, physical education, school events and community activities,” said Athletic Director Dr. Ty Scarlett, who spoke along with Acting Principal Noel Rios, Board of Education President Shirley Baker and Superintendent Dr. Erik Wright.
