  • Should the opening of schools be delayed for one or more hours, AM.
    Follow the steps under Emergency School Closing to confirm if school will be delayed.

    · Breakfast in all schools will be canceled.

    · Transportation schedules will be modified, consistent with the length of the delay (i.e. if the
    delay is two hours, students scheduled for 7:30AM pickups will be picked up at 9:30AM.)

    · The school day will end at its regularly scheduled time.

    EMERGENCY SCHOOL CLOSINGS

    On occasions when school must be closed as the result of unusual weather conditions, announcements
    will be made in a variety of ways. Beginning at 6:45AM you may tune into Channel 12 / Channel 7
    (WABC) / Channel 4 (WNBC) / Channel 5 (WNYW) to verify school openings or visits our website

    The following radio stations will also provide school closing information.

    • Altice USA (Optimum) is committed to helping schools and students stay connected during this unprecedented time. For households with K-12 and/or college students who may be displaced due to school closures and who do not currently have home internet access, Altice is offering their Altice Advantage 30 Mbps broadband solution for free for 60 days to any new customer household within our footprint.​​
    • Eligible households interested in this solution can call: 866-200-9522 to enroll in Optimum (select Sales and ask for free internet service for your student). Optimum will ask for your address to confirm service in your area, set up an account, and schedule a technician to install a router and modem. There is no fee for the install or service for 60 days.
    • To ensure that you do not incur a charge, cancel service and schedule pickup of the router and modem within 60 days of your original order.​​
