Wyandanch Memorial HS History Fair brings the past to life

Wyandanch Memorial High School held its annual History Fair last month, showcasing student learning, creativity and historical thinking. Students in grades 9–11 presented projects exploring significant events, themes and figures, demonstrating their ability to analyze history and make meaningful connections to the present.
Held in the school gymnasium, the fair transformed the space into an interactive learning environment where students, staff and visitors could experience history in action. From engaging visual displays to well-developed arguments, each project reflected the hard work and dedication of the students. Judges evaluated projects by grade level, with outstanding work recognized and celebrated.
“Our History Fair not only highlights academic achievement but also fosters curiosity, critical thinking and a deeper appreciation for the study of history within our school community,” social studies teacher Michelle Lloyd said.
