MLK Elementary Celebrates Black History Month with Pride-Filled Assembly

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School held its annual Black History Month Assembly on March 6, presenting two morning performances filled with celebration, learning and pride.
This year’s program highlighted Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Scholars created posters featuring notable HBCU graduates, while the auditorium was decorated by the MLK Beautification Club with colorful pennants representing several HBCUs and Greek letters showcasing the Divine Nine fraternities and sororities.
The assembly also featured vibrant performances from several student groups, including the Boys to Men vocal ensemble, MLK dance team, MLK Marching Band, MLK Spirit Squad, MLK Elite Pep Squad, MLK Chorus and MLK Drama Club. The MLK Staff Dancers also took the stage, adding to the celebratory atmosphere of the event.
