Wyandanch Union Free School District

Wyandanch’s Lafrancis Hardiman Elementary School recently celebrated the 100th day of school with a fun and educational activity that combined math and creativity. Scholars extended their learning by creating a tasty trail mix made up of 10 groups of 10 snacks. As they prepared their mixtures, students counted, sorted and classified items while answering additional math questions. Throughout the activity, they worked cooperatively, discussed counting strategies and collaborated to solve problems before enjoying their delicious snack.
