High School CTE students recognized for outstanding achievements

Wyandanch Memorial High School students in Dr. Shen-Wei Wu’s CTE Computer Technology and Network Cabling Home Technologies program were celebrated for their achievements with a special giveaway for upholding the core values of the school and their commitment to academic excellence.
In the class, 10 deserving students were awarded computer systems, valued between $650 and $900 each, in recognition of their academic excellence, class involvement, attendance, willingness to help others and overall commitment to success.
These computers were generously provided by Long Island Computer Services, courtesy of Dr. Wu.
In addition, students who were not selected to receive computers were still recognized for their efforts with consolation prizes. These scholars were awarded swag bags from the Long Island Gaming League, which included hoodies, books, e-books and tech gear.
As part of the selection process, students were required to submit an essay demonstrating their personal and academic growth, along with their contributions to the school community. The winning essays were presented during the event.
The occasion also showcased the achievements of students enrolled in the newly established CTE program, which has already provided free repairs for computers, laptops, smartphones, gaming consoles, controllers and other technology for students, staff, teachers and community members.
This initiative highlights the school's commitment to fostering technical skills, academic excellence and community engagement.
