Wyandanch Union Free School District’s homecoming 2024 was a vibrant celebration of school pride, marking another memorable homecoming game on Oct. 19.
The festivities began with the annual homecoming day parade led by the JROTC and featuring the district’s cheerleaders, marching band, the homecoming court and several other school groups marching through the center of town.
Prior to kickoff, the crowd enjoyed an energetic performance by the Wyandanch Memorial High School marching band, setting the tone for an afternoon full of excitement.
The festivities extended beyond the field as the Wyandanch community gathered to support the team and enjoyed food, treats and activities.
The Wyandanch Warriors then faced off against the Port Jefferson Royals in an intense game. At halftime, the 2024 homecoming kings and queens for grades nine through 12 were announced and the senior football players were then acknowledged for their dedication and leadership to the team
With strong community support and the varsity and junior varsity cheerleaders rooting them on, the Wyandanch Warriors secured a victory, beating the Port Jefferson Royals, 38-27.
