Juniors and seniors from Wyandanch Memorial High School were immersed in the world of law enforcement careers during a special visit from officers, detectives and paramedics representing various divisions of the Suffolk County Police Department.

The visit provided invaluable insights into the career opportunities within law enforcement and featured inspiring talks from SCPD representatives. Assistant to the Suffolk County Police Commissioner, Felix Adeyeye, captivated the scholars with motivational words, urging them to pursue their aspirations.

Among the speakers was Officer Darrell Randolph, a Wyandanch Memorial High School alumnus and one of two pilots for the SCPD Aviation Unit. Officer Randolph shared his personal journey, emphasizing the importance of commitment and perseverance in achieving career goals.

As part of the scholars’ introduction into law enforcement opportunities, they were invited to explore firsthand the SCPD's resources, including their helicopter and emergency vehicles. They also gained valuable insights into the diverse units within the department, each offering unique career pathways.

This visit marks the SCPD's third collaboration with Wyandanch Memorial High School, reaffirming its commitment to educate and inspire students about the career opportunities within law enforcement.
