Congratulations to the Wyandanch Memorial High School Marching Band and Vocal Warriors Chorus, who achieved outstanding success at the Six Flags Music in the Parks competition on June 1.
Demonstrating their remarkable commitment to musicality, the marching band secured first place as Best Overall Band, while the chorus earned second place for Best Overall Chorus.
"We are incredibly proud of our scholar-musicians for their achievements at the Music in the Parks competition," said Interim Superintendent of Schools Mrs. Arlise Carson. "Their dedication to their craft is evident in these remarkable results. Our marching band and chorus have brought great honor to our school and community."
The event, which took place at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey, featured performing groups from across the region.
The Wyandanch Memorial High School Marching Band's first-place victory is a testament to the hard work, discipline, and creativity of its members, under the skilled direction of Mr. Nicholas Liddie.
The Vocal Warriors Chorus, directed by Nickolette Kacharaba, delivered a performance that earned them a well-deserved second place. Their passionate and harmonious vocals as well as technical ability showcased the depth of talent within the group.
